Deepika Padukone gets teary-eyed as dad Prakash Padukone receives Lifetime Achievement Award : Bollywood News

It has been quite an emotional time for Deepika Padukone. The actress is finally enjoying the appreciation her film Padmaavat is receiving since its release last week. Now, adding to that, Deepika Padukone had another emotional moment in her life as her father, badminton player Prakash Padukone, received the lifetime achievement award for his contribution towards sports.

The Padukones were in New Delhi to attend Yonex - Sunrise India Open 2018 opening ceremony. On Monday, Deepika left for Delhi with sister Anisha Padukone along with mother Ujjala Padukone to cheer for her father who was being felicitated by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) with Lifetime Achievement Award. Prakash Padukone was honoured by Vice-President of India, Venkaiah Naidu.

For the event, Deepika chose for a traditional look as she donned a silk Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree and paired her look with a bun and statement earrings. Her sister Anisha wore an Anarkali dress whereas mom wore a beautiful saree.

Ace Badminton player PV Sindhu was also at the event to support Prakash Padukone. She shared a selfie with the Padukone family and wrote, "Many congratulations to #prakashpadukone sir for Lifetime achievement award and also had a lovely time with the family n with one of my favourite @deepikapadukone."

As Prakash Padukone was being awarded, Deepika got caught on cameras wiping off her tears. She was emotional last night as her father received the honour. She was even seen capturing some beautiful moments of him on stage.
