With many projects in the pipeline, Ranveer Singh is all set to take over another important role and will recreate the most memorable moment of Indian cricket history with Kabir Khan’s film titled ’83.
Ranveer Singh will be essaying the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. In 1983, the Indian cricket team led by Kapil Dev lifted the World Cup in England and the squad of 14 men gave India a reason to celebrate. As the movie is set to go on floors next year, the makers planned a special event to honour the cricketers.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ranveer Singh attended the event and honoured the cricketers. Not only did he meet Kapil, he also planted a sweet kiss on his cheek and showered him with love. Ranveer Singh also danced with cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth as the duo did the ‘Tattad Tattad’ signature move.
While Ranveer Singh will play the lead, the film will be backed by a powerful support cast. The casting of the other cricket players is yet in process. The film will be shot at real locations and will be going on floors early next year.
The winning team comprised of ace-cricketers like Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Sunil Gavaskar, Kirti Azad, Yashpal Sharma, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Roger Binny, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Sandeep Patil, Syed Kirmani, Madan Lal, Ravi Shastri, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sunil Valson and their manager PR Man Singh.
On the film front, Ranveer Singh is currently gearing up for the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmavati in which he is playing Alauddin Khilji. The film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. It is set to release on December 1, 2017.
