Deepika Padukone sure a great debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. But, Deepika’s did not shape the way she would have hoped for after her debut. Then, came Homi Adajania’s directorial Cocktail that changed the game for her. Cocktail had Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and newcomer Diana Penty in the lead roles. The film was a commercial success and earned high praises for Deepika. She was even honoured with a Smita Patil Memorial Award for her breakthrough performance.
On Thursday, July 13, Deepika got nostalgic as her film Cocktail clocked five years. She shared a throwback photograph from shooting days with Homi and wrote, “My best man ever!You set me free…Thank You for giving me Veronica;she will be a part of my life forever!I love you Homer! @homster @anaitashroffadajania #dineshvijan #saif @dianapenty #Cocktail.”
Diana Penty too remembered the film as it was a debut in the industry. Celebrating the day, she shared a few stills from the film and wrote, “First films will always be special. On the work front, Deepika Padukone is currently shooting for her upcoming film Padmavati which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. It is slated to release on November 17, 2017.
