Rajkummar Rao, literally, is having a perfect year by winning accolades from critics and audience for his recent performances in Trapped, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Newton. Now, with Newton, the actor has been appreciated for his incredible work. Also, Newton has become India’s official entry in the foreign language category at the 90th Academy Awards.
Amul has always had their versions of any pressing topic that is political or social or is trending on social media. Amul Topical, a special photo segment, shared their congratulatory message for Newton with their new topical advert. They captioned it, “#Amul Topical: India’s official entry for 2018 Academy Awards!”
The tagline on the topical was full of puns. It read as, “New Turn for the Oscars! Amul Newtricious.” The film, directed by Amit Masurkar, starring Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Raghubir Yadav and Anjali Patil, tells the story of an election official in charge of a polling station in a conflict-ridden region in the eastern state of Chhattisgarh.
