Bollywood stars special wish for Mother’s Day

Shabana Azmi: "At 86 Mashallah, Shaukat Kaifi is my mother, my child and my friend. Warm compassionate generous to a fault. But brutally frank. Her memory is failing. But she remembers lines from a play that she did at age 10! She continues to be a fabulous hostess. Her love for sarees has only increased with time. When (nobel laureate) Amartya Sen wrote a glowing review of her memoirs Kaifi & I she bought 16 sarees for herself at one go. When I gasped that I had never done that in my life pat came, her answer, 'Well, Amartya Sen has never praised you during your life so far.' My mom is a riot! On Mother's Day, I thank her with all my heart. By the way, I honestly think she would rather have me gift her a saree than speak so sentimentally about her!!"

Bipasha Basu: "My gift to my mom on Mother's Day is a Bong family dinner. I 'am' because of my mother. All my values my belief my philosophy of 'Love Yourself' comes from my mother. I am lucky to have my Ma by my side whenever I need her support, and I don't have to ask."

Tapsee Pannu: "I just want to gift my mom my love and lots of happiness because in no way can I return or pay back what she has given to me. For all the sleepless nights I've given her I promise to give her a life that would enable her to sleep peacefully every night. My words cannot be enough to thank her. But I promise to try to never say anything that would hurt her."

Dia Mirza: "My mother is my hero. I look up to her and admire her for her fortitude. Every year on Mother's Day I write her a letter. It's been tradition between us. And I know nothing makes her happier than to read my words on Mother's Day."

Tiger Shroff: "I'd like to make every single day special for my mom. I really don't need Mother's Day to let her know she's the most important person in my life. But since Mother's Day is officially on Sunday my Dad and I will take Mom out for dinner."

Tanuj Virmani: "They say when a mother gives birth to a child; the child also gives birth to a mother. I am blessed with the most wonderful mom (actress Rati Agnihotri).She is my pillar of strength. Shweta Prasad: "I don't believe in these special days for special people. Mother's Day works for Western countries where children live away from their parents. I don't gift Maa anything. I just tell her I love her every day. So in a way every day is Mother's Day for me. However since Mother's Day conveniently falls on Sunday I will take my mom out to lunch. In the evening I may visit an old age home with a cake for abandoned mothers."

Raveena Tandon: "Every time I gift my mum something she says the most precious gift I give to her is the company of her grandchildren. So I've planned a full-day activity with the whole family. Lunch and swim for the kids. Then they will hang around with their Naani at her beach house and maybe take her for a movie. So this Mother's Day give your mom what she wants the most. Your company."

Arjun Rampal: "I want to travel with my mother around the world to all the destinations she would love. I want to tell her that if I were to be born again, then I want to be born only as her child. She is the most beautiful and best mom in the world."

Pooja Bhatt: "I think it's time to discard the Mother's Day cliches and promise to mother her in the twilight of her life. All parents and children have to reverse roles eventually. That is the natural order of life!"
