BAAGHI 2: 5 Reasons why the film could be a GAME-CHANGER for Tiger Shroff

If you think of action and fancy mixed martial arts moves coupled with electrifying dancing in the space of mainstream cinema, only one name comes to mind: Tiger Shroff. It would be an understatement to say that the young dancing star has carved a niche for himself in this space because as of now, there is no competition to his moves: both in the boxing ring and dance floor. The action heroes of the nineties: Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Ajay Devgn have branched to doing more content heavy cinema, leaving Tiger to dominate this genre. This has clearly worked out for Tiger Shroff. Box Office numbers are a testament to this. Aren’t they? Now, Tiger is coming back with yet another action film: Baaghi 2 which is a sequel to the 2016 release, Baaghi. Helmed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, this movie already is touted to be a blockbuster. Here’s why this film will be a game changer for Tiger, career especially since his last releases – A Flying Jatt and Munna Michael failed to set cash registers ringing.

BAAGHI 2: 5 Reasons why the film could be a GAME-CHANGER for Tiger Shroff

1. Tiger – The action wizard

Well, okay… this is a total no brainer. You might roll your eyes when Tiger unleashes his inner Bruce Lee on screen claiming that he copies the Hollywood but come on, he does it pretty damn well. Which other star in the industry can boast of command and expertise like Baaghi star when it comes to Mixed Martial Arts? No one from his generation. The action sequences in the movie are grand and bold this time, it is evident from the trailer itself. Director Ahmed Khan makes sure that he channelizes Tiger’s expertise in the best way possible. Masses will surely throng the big screens to look at the Heropanti star pulling off near death, top notch action sequences effortlessly. Yes, and do not forget his killer dance moves too.

2. Tiger – Disha chemistry

Jackie Shroff’s son is nothing like him as he does not believe in PDA with his leading ladies (on or off screen). There has been much speculation about his ongoing affair with his Baaghi 2 co-star Disha that it has created much needed hype around the film. It hardly matters if the couple accepts or denies their relationship because their fans have already made their mind and would to see them together. Interestingly, Disha Patani is a trained dancer just like her beau and it would be a treat to watch them groove together. We are expecting this portion to be nothing but LEGEN– wait for it – Dary.

3. Tiger’s image transformation

In the first part of the franchise, Tiger Shroff sported long, wavy and a leaner body. This time around, he goes for a classic undercut and his body is more ripped (pun intended)…only for his fan girls’ pleasure. He surely has risen the bar with his sculpted body as he holds out a promise of performing dare devil, never before-seen-action sequences in the movie.

4. The recall value

Baaghi comfortably entered the Rs. 100 crore bracket in the year 2016 and therefore, fans will watch Baaghi 2, thanks to the fact that they have already loved its prequel. What more? The director, banking on this popularity and recall value, has announced its third sequel too!

5. The number game

Currently, Ajay Devgn’s Raid and Rani Mukerji’s Hichki are running in theatres. What is a common factor between the two stars? Well, both are content heavy movies with a niche target audience. Baaghi 2, on the other hand, caters to masses and is out-and-out commercial movie. Makers have also added the ‘Ek Do Teen’ item number starring Jacqueline Fernandez to make sure that people come to watch the film. Though it got mixed response, Baaghi 2 became a talking point. That’s what the makers were aiming at anyway.
