Dragged into the same were star kids who according to Kangna ‘have it easy’ but Arjun Kapoor has decided to break the ‘myths’ associated with star kids.

Arjun Kapoor and Athiya Shetty who came together for a magazine photoshoot as a part of their film Mubarakan’s promotions and spoke about ‘what it is like to be a star kid’ in a recent interview for the magazine Vogue India. While Arjun, the ‘other’ Kapoor hails from a Bollywood family, Athiya is the daughter of the 90s star, Suneil Shetty. While Arjun debuted with YRF’s Ishaqzaade, Athiya debuted opposite Sooraj Pancholi in Hero in 2015.

Talking about his debut film, breaking the myth that star kids enter film industry without any auditions, Arjun Kapoor stated that he had to indeed give an audition to bag the role of Parma in Ishaqzaade. While he asserted that casting agents knew him, he also maintained that he did not ask his father to launch him despite the fact that Boney Kapoor is a popular producer.

“My father would open the door for me but eventually somebody’s investing in you for a reason. If you don’t know show a return on the investment, they will stop investing in you,” he explained Bollywood from a purely business aspect. Coming to the pros and cons, although Arjun agreed that star kids are better prepared when it comes to understanding the business of Bollywood, he also believes that one of the biggest disadvantages are the high expectations attached to them owing to the fact that they belong to the industry.

“You have to make the industry and the audience realize that you’re not here just because of the surname. And only you can do that in front of the camera,” maintained Arjun.

Arjun Kapoor earlier too was involved in the debate where he had maintained that star kids don’t have it easy and that in the long run, it is only talent that helps one survive in the Indian entertainment industry.
