Recreated versions and Ajay Devgn seems to go hand-in-hand. Just last week, it was revealed that Ajay Devgn’s Diwali release Golmaal Again would incorporate the remixed version of ‘Neend Churayi Meri’, from Ajay’s 1997 film Ishq, composed by Amaal Mallik. And now it has come to light that Ajay’s action drama Baadshaho, which is all set to release on September 1, will feature a version of deceased Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s timeless classic, ‘Rashk-e-Qamar’
Baadshaho marks the fourth collaboration of Ajay Devgn with director Milan Luthria. Incidentally, in their first film together, Kachche Dhaage, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had composed all the songs, including the very popular ‘Tere Bin Nahin Lagda’.
The remixed version of ‘Rashk-e-Qamar’ will feature Ajay along with one of the leading ladies of Baadshaho, Ileana D’Cruz. The song has been shot in the beautiful locales of Bikaner, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, in Rajasthan and will showcase the strong relationship shared by the two actors in the film.
Milan Luthria got Tanishk Bagchi to recreate the track and Manoj Muntashir to pen the lyrics. What’s heartening to know is that the song retains Nusrat’s voice for the original lines. Milan revealed that he was seeking a right flavor for the film especially for Ajay and hence, he decided to browse through Nusrat’s songs. When producer Bhushan Kumar learnt about Milan’s quest, he revealed that he could get ‘Rashk-e-Qamar’ and the rest is history.
This much-awaited song is all set to release tomorrow, i.e., July 14.
