Rhea Kapoor has finally found her dream team in Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania for Veere Di Wedding and we just have to wait for a day to know if the film is worth the hype or not! The makers have done everything in their capacity to make sure that the film is promoted well and its USP is clearly communicated to fans before it is released. They have been crying hoarse for the couple of months selling VDW as ‘Not A Chick Flick’ because hey, FEMINISM. So, in the world of Pyaar Ka Punchnamas and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweetys here’s why we think Veere Di Wedding has the potential to become a BLOCKBUSTER
1: Kareena Kapoor’s comeback
Okay so let us set one record straight. Yes, Bebo has denied calling Veere Di Wedding her comeback film because in her words, she never went out of the scene in the first place to come back. But all said and done, this is her first film after motherhood and a perfect platform for her to show her acting chops and charisma as she is playing the central character Kalindi. This is the film where we celebrate her killer mommy abs and so much more, hopefully!
2: Bold content, interesting theme
Rhea and Ekta Kapoor who have teamed up to produce to this film promise us that they have PUSHED boundaries for Veere Di Wedding. Early reviews of the movie promise us that it will smash stereotypes, push boundaries and has an immense shock value attached to it. So basically is it Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in reverse? The fact that a woman centric movie which dares to be as close to reality as possible is itself a victory. If nothing else, its bold content will invite masses to theatres just out of curiosity, maybe.
3: Rhea Kapoor’s unmistakable STYLE quotient
Rhea who single handedly is responsible for making Sonam Kapoor a global fashion icon, sure knows how to make her leading ladies look good. Her debut film Aisha tanked at the box office but was superb in the department of art direction, ditto for Khubsoorat. Veere Di Wedding is a stylishly mounted film and the leading ladies are making no bones about the fact that they are too glam to care a damn, on screen and even off screen for the promotional events.
