After last week’s non-starters, this week we see the release of the Ajay Devgn – Ileana D’Cruz starrer RAID. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film has featured rather low key promotions in the run up to its release. Despite this, the audiences have been anxiously awaiting its release. But will the film manage to hold its own at the box office, especially since the previously release film SONU KE TITU KI SWEETY still continues to run, is the question.
Reports suggest that RAID has taken off on a rather slow note, with occupancy rates during morning shows being pegged at 20%. This low key opening to the film despite the positive reviews and the good word of mouth is being attributed to the on-going exam season across the nation that is keeping a major chunk of the audience away from theatres.
On the whole, though RAID has taken off on a slow note, the business of the film is expected to see a good jump in collections over evening and night shows. With positive reviews and good word of mouth, the overall collections of RAID over its opening weekend are expected to grow as the days progress.
