The Shashanka Ghosh directed film Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania released last week on Friday. Said to be a female buddy story the film opened to a good response from both the audience and critics alike. After dominating the weekend in the domestic market the film has managed to sustain good business on its first Monday as well.

Collecting a massive USD 2.6 million [Rs. 17.44 cr] on its opening weekend Veere Di Wedding has taken off to a flying start in the overseas market. In fact, with stellar collections the film has now managed to become the third highest opening weekend grosser of 2018 in the overseas market. Though the collections of Veere Di Wedding do not manage to surpass previous releases like Padmaavat that had collected USD 12 million [Rs. 80.64 cr] and Baaghi 2 that collected USD 3.4 million [Rs. 22.84 cr] the business of Veere Di Wedding does manage to out beat other releases like Raazi that collected USD 2.03 million [Rs. 13.63 cr] and Pad Man that collected USD 1.90 million [Rs. 12.76 cr].

If that wasn’t all, looking at the day wise collections of Veere Di Wedding over its opening weekend in the overseas market it is easy to notice how the business of the film has seen a constant and steady increase in collections. After opening with a collections of USD 165K [Rs. 1.1 cr] on Thursday, the business of Veere Di Wedding managed to add another USD 859K [Rs. 5.76 cr] and USD 894K [Rs. 5.99 cr] on Friday and Saturday respectively. However, Sunday saw the collections of the film dip slightly with USD 678K [Rs. 4.54 cr] coming in. But, despite this, the business of Veere Di Wedding has on the whole witnessed rather positive feedback from the audience in the international markets as well.
As of now, with no completion from new releases Veere Di Wedding looks set to enjoy a stellar run at the box office unopposed till the release of the Salman Khan starrer Race 3.
