Tum Bin 2 has seen low collections on its opening day. With just Rs. 0.6 crore coming in, the film has taken a lesser than expected start. Considering the fact that the film has been promoted well, has music going for it and has a good look to it as well, one expected better numbers. That said, just as has been the case for the other films in the running too, demonetizing factor continues to impact the business of theatrical entertainment. Of course in case of Tum Bin 2, which is prominently a multiplex affair, the jolt won't be huge but then when a film is any case playing on lower numbers, even that bit of collections matter.
The film benefits to some extent from the fact that the makers [T-Series] have got a chunk of moolah back from ancillary rights [satellite, music] due to which theatrical collections are more or less added bonus. However, when a film is released in theatres, it is expected that there are some sort of footfalls at the least.
Reports for the Anubhav Sinha directed film are decent and that could help sustenance in collections over the weekend. Tum Bin too had taken a slow start but stayed consistent for days in succession. Those were different times though when the appetite for a theatrical run for a film was much larger. In case of Tum Bin 2, the window is somewhat restricted but a good jump today and tomorrow could help it collect comparatively better.
