The Salman Khan – Sohail Khan – Zhu Zhu starrer Tubelight that was directed by Kabir Khan released on Friday last week. After opening on a decent note, the film’s business has witnessed growth over the weekend. However, unlike conventional Salman Khan releases around Eid, the business of Tubelight has been relatively tepid.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Tubelight while at the same time comparing them to the collections of Kabir Khan’s previous directorial ventures. Collecting Rs. 64.77 cr Tubelight becomes Kabir’s third highest opening weekend grosser, following the director’s previous ventures like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger both of which incidentally featured Salman Khan and had collected Rs. 102.6 cr and 100.16 cr respectively.
On the other hand the business of Tubelight does manage to surpass Kabir Khan’s other directorial venture Phantom that featured Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif that had collected Rs. 33.18 cr.
