The Akshay Kumar–Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha as expected is doing very well on Day 5 which happens to be a national holiday on account of Independence Day. The four-day total of the film so far is Rs. 63.45 cr. After a decent Day 1 collections amounting to Rs. 13.10 crores, the collections of this social satire jumped dramatically on Saturday and it netted Rs. 17.10 crores. Sunday was even better at Rs. 21.25 cr. But when the film put up some good numbers on Monday as well – Rs. 12 cr – it became evident that Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is set for a long run.
The Tuesday [Day 5] collections of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha are expected to grow around 50% from Day 4 and should be in the range ofRs. 18 cr. What would be interesting to see is how the night shows (post 9 PM) behave since the long weekend of five days is coming to a close and hence there may be some dip at this timeline due to tomorrow being a working day.
This would take the five day collections to more than Rs. 80 cr. The film is expected to remain steady on Wednesday and then there’s another holiday on Thursday, Parsi New Year, in certain parts of the country. Toilet – Ek Prem Katha hence would be Akshay Kumar’s highest first week grosser, crossing Rustom’s first week collections of Rs. 90.90 cr.
