The Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba released last week across 4020 screens in the domestic market. Since then the Rohit Shetty directorial has been on a roll at the box office. After opening on a decent note, the business of Simmba set the box office register on fire with audience flocking to theatres.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Simmba while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 75.11 cr on its opening weekend the business of Simmba has managed beat the Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2 that had collected Rs. 73.10 cr. If that wasn’t all, the opening weekend collections of Simmba have recorded better number than other releases like the Akshay Kumar starrer Gold that collected Rs. 70.05 cr and the recently released Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero that had collected Rs. 59.07 cr.
However, the opening weekend business of Simmba does not manage to surpass the collections of certain other release like Thugs of Hindostan that collected Rs. 123 cr, Sanju that collected Rs. 120.06 cr, Padmaavat that collected Rs. 114 cr, Race 3 that collected Rs. 103 cr, and 2.0 that had collected Rs. 97.25 cr.
Currently, with Simmba running to packed houses across the country and with little to no competition it is expected that the business of the film will cross the Rs. 100 cr mark in the coming couple of days.
