The much talked about Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan released last week on Friday. The film which talks about a still taboo subject in many Indian cities opened to mixed reviews from critics. However, the business of the film witnessed a good start with audience taking a shine to the movie.

Collecting Rs. 32.66 cr Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has managed to beat the previously releases Kartik Aaryan – Sara Ali Khan starrer Love Aaj Kal that had collected Rs. 26 cr on its opening weekend to become the third highest opening weekend grosser of 2020. Though earlier releases like Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior that collected Rs. 61.75 cr, and Street Dancer 3D that collected Rs. 39 cr lead the list of highest opening weekend grossers of 2020, the business of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has managed to surpass the collections of other releases like Malang that collected Rs. 25.36 cr, Chhapaak that collected Rs. 19.02 cr, Bhoot: Part 1 - The Haunted Ship that collected Rs. 16.36 cr, Panga that collected Rs. 14.91 cr, and Jawaani Jaaneman that collected Rs. 12.83 cr.
However, though Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has recorded good opening weekend numbers, it remains to be seen whether the film manages to survive the Monday test. In fact, trade predictions state that since the film deals with a topic that is still taboo in many cities and towns in India, the business of the film is likely to see a drop.
