Just a few hours remain before the biggest Bollywood release of 2017, Tiger Zinda Hai, hits the screens. It is just the right time as well for the film to arrive. Industry has been starved of a mega bucks entertainer since the arrival of Golmaal Again. Except for Fukrey Returns which emerged as a surprise Superhit, no other film has actually brought in big moolah. Theaters across the country too are waiting to embrace the Yash Raj release with open arms. There is no competition from past or present either, while future too has a red carpet rolled out exclusively for Tiger Zinda Hai.
All that is needed now is for the film to be an excellent entertainer, something which is expected from Ali Abbas Zafar considering the fact that he has delivered an All Time Blockbuster in Sultan with Salman Khan and Yash Raj Films already.
What has to be seen now is how big does the film open at the Box Office. It is a given that amongst Hindi films, the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer would open the biggest for sure. Currently, the record is held by Golmaal Again which had brought in Rs. 30.14 crore. That number would be easily surpassed on Friday. However, the real challenge for the film would be to emerge as the biggest opener of 2017 and that would be possible only if it managed to cross the Hindi dubbed version of Baahubali: The Conclusion [Rs. 41 crore] as well.
That seems like a steep target though since Friday is a working day and there is a long weekend ahead in any case. There are ample opportunities for audiences to plan their movie watching outing and hence even if the opening day won't be record breaking, the first four day number could well be out of the world.
For now, even if opening day collections are around Rs. 35 crore (which seems like a good possibility), the stage would be set for Tiger Zinda Hai to roar loud and strong
