Ranveer Singh is definitely celebrating, besides being the happiest man after getting married to one of the most beautiful women in the world; the actor has added reason to celebrate with his latest release rocking the box office. In fact, the Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba that released in the last week of December 2018 has continued to draw in the audience well into the New Year. If that wasn’t enough, despite new releases hitting screens in January 2019, Simmba has managed to hold its own at the box office. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba that hit a massive 4020 screens has been unstoppable. We at Bollywood Hungama decided to take a closer look at a new record of sorts that the young gun as managed. Interestingly, with the stunning success of Simmba Ranveer Singh has managed to pip none other than Salman Khan to become the highest grossing male celebrity in a single year.
With a cumulative collection of Rs. 533.46 cr at the box office from two releases viz. Padmaavat and Simmba in 2018, Ranveer Singh firmly occupies the first spot, surpassing Salman Khan whose cumulative box office collections are pegged at Rs. 530.50 cr from two films viz. Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that hit screens in 2015.
As of now, despite the fact that Simmba released weeks back, the film still enjoys the audience’s favour and with little to no competition at the box office it is more than likely that the cumulative collections of Ranveer at the end of Simmba’s box office run will be much higher. In fact, expectations are that Ranveer Singh’s cumulative box office collections are likely to end up at Rs. 540 cr.
