After a month long run, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has netted Rs. 112.14 crore at the Box Office. With this, the film has also crossed the lifetime total of Barfi! [Rs. 112 crore] and hence has emerged as Ranbir Kapoor's second highest grosser ever.

The film has lost around Rs. 2 crore due to demonetization and though it would earn a few lakhs more from here on, it could have otherwise wrapped up around the Rs. 115 crore mark. Nonetheless, this is still a good enough win for all involved with the film (Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Pritam, Fox) who have come together with a good Hit under their belt.
More than anyone else, this is a good shot in the arm for Ranbir Kapoor who can now look ahead with a fresh slate of films. His next is Jagga Jasoos and thankfully, owing to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil success, it would find a renewed interest for itself despite delay. On the other hand things have really heated up for the Sanjay Dutt biopic by Rajkumar Hirani and with Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor finalized as his leading ladies, the overall packaging looks neat too.
