Raid starring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla released last week on Friday. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta the film which received positive reviews opened on a sluggish note on account of the on-going exam season. However, with strong word of mouth, the business of Raid witnessed good growth on its opening weekend.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Raid while comparing the same to Ajay Devgn’s previously released films. Collecting Rs. 41.01 cr, Raid ranks as Ajay Devgn’s sixth highest opening weekend grosser, surpassing the opening weekend collections of Ajay’s previous releases like, Satyagraha that collected Rs. 39.12 cr, Golmaal 3 that collected Rs. 33.58 cr, Himmatwala that collected Rs. 31.1 cr, and Singham that collected Rs. 30.98 cr.
On the other hand, the opening weekend collections of Raid do not outbeat Devgn’s other releases like Golmaal Again that collected Rs. 87.6 cr, Singham Returns that collected Rs. 77.69 cr, Son of Sardaar that collected Rs. 66.02 cr, Baadshaho that collected Rs. 12.6 cr, and Bol Bachchan that collected Rs. 43.10 cr.
Now all that remains to be seen is whether Raid that continues to enjoy the audiences’ favour emerges as Ajay Devgn’s highest grosser or not.
