The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film Padmaavat released a while back. Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, the film which faced immense issues in the run upto its release has done rather well at the box office. After becoming the first film of 2018 to go past the Rs. 200 cr mark, the film has now achieved yet another milestone. In fact, Padmaavat has now become the first film of 2018 to achieve Rs. 300 cr at the box office.
Collecting Rs. 300.26 cr Padmaavat has now become the highest grosser of 2018. Interestingly, the film which saw its release in certain domestic markets only after its second week, has managed this feat just 50 days after its release. If that wasn’t all, the business of Padmaavat has eclipsed the collections of other big ticket releases so far like Pad Man, and the Hollywood action flick Black Panther as well.
With this, Padmaavat now becomes the 7th film to achieve this milestone at the box office, joining previous releases like PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Dangal, Tiger Zinda Hai, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had crossed the Rs. 300 cr mark.
