Judwaa 2 released last week on Friday to a warm welcome not only from the critics but the audience as well. After managing to cross Rs. 50 cr in collections within the first three days, the business of Judwaa 2 has remained stable over the subsequent weekdays as well.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening week collections of Judwaa 2 while comparing the same to Varun Dhawan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 98.08 cr Judwaa 2 has become Varun Dhawan’s highest opening week grosser. Though the actor’s previous release Dilwale had collected Rs. 102.65 cr in the same time period, since the film did not feature Varun as the solo male lead it has been omitted from this list. However, Judwaa 2 has managed to surpass Varun’s other releases like Badrinath Ki Dulhania that collected Rs. 73.29 cr, ABCD - Any Body Can Dance 2 that collected Rs. 71.78 cr, Dishoom that collected Rs. 53.34 cr, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania that had collected Rs. 53.31 cr, Student of the Year that collected Rs. 48 cr, Main Tera Hero that collected Rs. 38.42 cr and Badlapur that had collected Rs. 36.31 cr.
Going by the current trend with Judwaa 2 still running in theatres despite new releases hitting screens, all that is left to be seen is whether the film becomes ones of the highest grossing movies of 2017.
