It has been well over three weeks since we saw the release of the Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2. After opening on a high note the film directed by Subhash Kapoor has been doing brisk business at the box office.
In this special report we take a look at the collections of Jolly LLB 2 on its fourth weekend at the domestic box office while comparing the same to the previous big ticket releases Raees and Kaabil. Surprisingly, Jolly LLB 2 that has managed to rake in Rs. 1.50 cr on its fourth weekend has fared better than both Raees and Kaabil. In fact the combined total of both Raees and Kaabil’s fourth week collections still do not manage to come close to the fourth weekend collections of Jolly LLB 2. While Raees raked in just Rs. 17 lakhs, Kaabil managed to collect Rs. 48 lakhs in their fourth week running.
Similarly, the previous release Shraddha Kapoor – Adity Roy Kapur starrer Ok Jaanu too lags far behind collecting a meagre Rs. 4 lakhs in its fourth week. Evident from the box office collections of Jolly LLB 2 is the fact that good content positioned well with an equally good star and production value does play a key role in ensuring a film’s success.
Box Office at a glance:
Jolly LLB 2 – Rs. 1.05 cr (4th weekend)
OK Jaanu Fourth Week – Rs. 4 lakhs
Raaes Fourth Week – Rs. 17 lakhs
Kaabil Fourth Week – Rs. 48 lakhs
