On Friday last week we saw the release of the Shah Rukh Khan - Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal. Despite the hype surrounding the film that was directed by Imtiaz Ali, it did not perform as expected at the box office. However, benefiting from the underperformance of Jab Harry Met Sejal was the Anees Bazmee directorial Mubarakan that released over a week ago.
Mubarakan that took off on a sluggish note only to see a jump in collections on its opening weekend has received yet another spurt of life at the box office on its second weekend. In fact, after collecting Rs. 1.05 cr on its second Friday the film’s collections saw an increase on both Saturday and Sunday with Rs. 2 cr and Rs. 3.03 cr coming in on each day respectively.
With this increase the total collections of Mubarakan that managed to clock Rs. 6.08 cr on its second weekend stands at Rs. 41.74 cr.
