The recently released Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania featuring two of the brightest young guns of Bollywood, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, has done decently at the box office register. Though the film has been doing brisk business, we decided to take a different look.
In this Box Office report, we take a look at the Opening Weekend collection of the film as compared to both Varun and Alia's previous releases. Interestingly, though both actors made their debut together Alia till date has had four releases, but Varun had just three. However, it was Alia's previous release 2 States along with Arjun Kapoor that holds the top slot as being the highest opening weekend grosser of her career collecting Rs. 38.06 crores, while Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania comes in a close second collecting Rs. 33.74 crores.
On the other hand, for Varun, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania has become his highest Opening Weekend grosser till date, out beating his previous releases Main Tera Hero that collected Rs. 22.73 crores and Student Of the Year that collected Rs. 30 crores.
