Just over a week ago we saw the release of the film Half Girlfriend and Hindi Medium. While the first that was directed by Mohit Suri starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor was an adaptation of the Chetan Bhagat novel Half Girlfriend, the second, Hindi Medium featured Irrfan Khan and the Pakistani artist Saba Qamar in lead roles.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the collections of both Half Girlfriend and Hindi Medium while comparing the same to previously released film of 2017. While Half Girlfriend, as expected has taken the lead over Hindi Medium at the box office, the film that raked in Rs. 55.31 cr ranks as the sixth highest grosser of 2017.
On the other hand Hindi Medium that starts off on a slower note has managed to draw in the audience as the week progress. With a collection of Rs. 39.55 cr the film ranks as the seventh highest grosser of 2017, overtaking previous releases like Naam Shabana that collected Rs. 36.76 cr, and Phillauri that collected Rs. 27.1 cr.
Interestingly though, the docu-drama Sachin: A Billion Dreams that is based on the life of popular Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has managed to rank as the ninth highest grosser of 2017 with collections pegged at Rs. 27.85 cr.
