Hindi Medium saw a big jump in collections (as expected) on its Day Two. The film collected Rs. 4.25 crore on Saturday after bringing in Rs. 2.81 crore on Friday. The film's total currently stands at Rs. 7.06 crore and will now cross the Rs. 12 crore mark before the weekdays kick-start. That said, the film has to battle competition from many avenues today. Half Girlfriend is finding its audience amongst the youth, Baahubali 2 [Hindi] has its own loyal set of followers while cricket lovers would have IPL finals keeping them engaged during the evening. That would keep the pace of the Irrfan Khan starrer on check today.
Half Girlfriend managed to keep itself afloat on its second day with collections staying in the double digit zone all over again. Rs. 10.63 crore more came in on Saturday and that has taken the film to Rs. 20.90 crore. This has now assured the film of a weekend in the range of Rs. 32-33 crore which should be good enough to keep the Mohit Suri directed affair in the success zone. It has been a while since a Bollywood release saw collections in this range and though one expects a lot more and that too on a consistent basis week after week, one just hopes that at least a start has been made.
As for Baahubali 2 [Hindi], the film is approaching the Rs. 475 crore mark at a rapid pace. The film has already touched Rs. 460 crore on Saturday and yet another milestone would be accomplished today. The film is running in a world of its own where it is oblivious to any and every competition around it.
