Box Office: Ek Villain is the 2nd highest Opening Weekend grosser of 2014

The much talked about and highly anticipated thriller film Ek Villain that released on Friday opened to a thunderous start at the box-office. Despite competition from the Hollywood big ticket film Transformers: Age Of Extinction, the Shraddha Kapoor- Sidharth Malhotra starrer has been done brisk business over the weekend.


In this box office report, we take a look at the Opening Weekend collections of the film as compared to other releases of 2014. Surprisingly, Ek Villain emerges as the second Highest Opening Weekend Grosser of 2014 collecting Rs. 50.70 crores, preceded only by the Salman Khan starrer Jai Ho that collected Rs. 60.68 crores. It is followed by Gunday at the third position which collected Rs. 43.93 crores and Holiday at fourth position which collected Rs. 41.32 crores.
