Portraying the real life story of wrestler-coach Mahavir Phogat, the much awaited Aamir Khan starrer Dangal released last week. The film, which also marks the debut of Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, has opened to a great response in Indian as well as overseas market.
In this box office report, we will compare the collections of the recently released film with the lifetime collections of other Bollywood releases overseas in 2016. According to the reports, Dangal has already become the 3rd highest overseas grosser of 2016 by surpassing Fan. Reported collections for Dangal were pegged at 11.2 mil. USD with several screens yet to report.
Considering the phenomenal response the film has been receiving, the film may move up the ladder to the no.2 spot in the chart which is currently occupied by Ae Dil Hai Mushkil by end of the day today. What remains to be seen is if the Aamir Khan starrer can surpass the collections of the 2016’s biggest blockbuster by far, Sultan.
