The Aamir Khan starrer Dangal directed by Nitesh Tiwari released last week on Friday to good responses from the audience and critics alike. The film which is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat also marks the debut of Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh.
In this box office report we take a look at the Opening Weekend collections of Dangal while comparing the same to Aamir Khan’s previous releases. Not surprisingly Dangal which has been one of the most anticipated films of 2016 has become Aamir’s second highest opening weekend grosser collecting Rs. 106.95 cr. In fact the film narrowly misses overtaking the actor’s previous release Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 107.61 cr. However, Dangal does manage to surpass the collections of Aamir’s other films like, P.K that collected Rs. 35.41 cr, Talaash that collected Rs. 47.10 cr and 3 Idiots that collected Rs. 40.65 cr.
