On Friday last week we saw the release of the film Baaghi which marks Tiger Shroff's second venture with director Sabbir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The film which boasts ofintense action sequences also featuring Shraddha Kapoor has been well received by the audience.
In this box office report, we take a look at the Opening Weekend collections of Baaghi while comparing them to previous releases in 2016. Interestingly, the film which caters to the mass has
managed to become the third highest opening weekend grosser of the year collecting Rs. 38.58 cr. While the film does manage to surpass previous releases like Kapoor & Sons that collected Rs.
26.35 cr and Ki & Ka that collected Rs. 25.23 cr, it fails to overtake other films like Fan that collected Rs. 52.35 cr and Airlift that collected Rs. 44.3 cr.
However, when compared to Tiger Shroff's previous releases, Baaghi has clocked approximately 1.8 times the opening weekend of Heropanti that had collected Rs. 21.33 cr. In fact
Baaghi has already crossed the opening weekend business of Heropanti in just 2 days. At this rate, Baaghi should cross the total first week business of Heropanti in the
opening weekend itself. Now looking at the figures of these two releases, for Tiger who is just two films old, this is pretty impressive.
But with Baaghi continuing its stunning run at the box office, the film's collections coupled with Tiger's previous release, the cumulative lifetime of both Heropanti and
Baaghi will soon clock 100 cr. at the India box office.
