Andhadhun has done well over the weekend, what with Rs. 15 crore coming in. Even though the opening day was a little lesser than expected, the Sriram Raghavan film covered some real good ground on Saturday and Sunday, as a result of which the weekend collections have come out fine. The film brought in Rs. 7.20 crore more on Sunday and that is very good improvement on the Friday numbers.
The film has gained good enough momentum during last couple of days and now it is a matter of sustaining it well during rest of the week as well. The film is finding good to very good word of mouth going its way and hence that should be possible. If the film ends up bringing Rs. 10 crore more during these four weekdays, the overall numbers would come in healthy enough. Ayushmann Khurranna has delivered successes in the past but is yet to achieve Rs. 50 crore lifetime with a film of his. This could well become possible with Andhadhun.
On the other hand the manner in which LoveYatri is currently finding footfalls, it could well turn out to be just a one week show. The film has collected only Rs. 6.85 crore so far after bringing in Rs. 2.75 crore on Sunday. There was just no momentum over the weekend and considering the fact that the opening was poor as well, the overall numbers are way below even minimal expectations. Audiences have just not been enticed enough to check out what the newcomers had to offer and that reflects in low footfalls. Moreover, the content has played spoilsport as well and that hasn’t helped the film’s cause either. Let’s see how numbers turn out today because any further fall from Friday collections would be way too less for the film.
