The year 2017 has been a mixed back for Bollywood with certain big ticket releases underperforming at the box office, while on the other hand films that weren’t really expected to be big money spinners working very well. Despite these ups and downs the industry that has been going through a rough phase has managed to hold well.
Now with the Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha working well at the box office, we have yet another film that has managed to cross the much coveted Rs. 100 crore mark. In fact Toilet – Ek Prem Katha that has raked in Rs. 100.5 cr within eight days of its release has become the eighth film of 2017 to cross this mark.
Other films on the list of entrants in the 100 crore club this year include previous releases like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that collected Rs. 510.99 cr, Raees that collected Rs. 137.51 cr, Tubelight that collected Rs. 119.26 cr, Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 117 cr, Badrinath Ki Dulhania that collected Rs. 116.68 cr and Kaabil that collected Rs. 103.84 cr. But with Toilet – Ek Prem Katha continuing to hold the audience’s interest despite new releases, the overall total collections of the film are expected to increase over the coming days.
