If has certainly been a while since the Aamir Khan starrer Dangal hit screens in Indian, however across the border in China the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari that released a few weeks ago has been doing roaring business. In fact, thanks to its super success at the Chinese box office, Dangal received a booster shot in terms of collections with the film raking in the moolah and manages to blow past the Rs. 1500 crore mark.
Dangal has now set an altogether new box office benchmark with total collections of the film being pegged at staggering Rs. 1844.34 cr. The film, which also featured newcomers Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, managed this stupendous feat with Rs. 1096 cr coming in from the Chinese box office, Rs. 32.34 cr from the Taiwan box office and Rs. 716 cr coming in from the worldwide market (excluding China Taiwan).
With this Dangal has now become the first Indian film to achieve this benchmark of collecting well over Rs. 1800 cr at the global box office.
