‘Sunday’ better than other Ajay films

Ajay Devgan can heave a sigh of relief! His new movie, SUNDAY, has fared much better than his last few releases [RAMGOPAL VARMA KI AAG, CASH and HALLA BOL] in U.K. In fact, SUNDAY has done in 3 days what HALLA BOL has done over two weekends [10 days]… The Punjabi film, YAARIYAN, has fared well in its opening weekend in U.K.

Weekend: January 25 - 27, 2008.

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • SUNDAY has debuted at No. 16 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 77,476 [approx. Rs. 60.49 lacs] on 32 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 2,421.


  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 19,793; Saturday: £ 30,377; Sunday: £ 27,306.

  • YAARIYAN [Punjabi film] has debuted at No. 22 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 27,917 [approx. Rs. 21.80 lacs] on 11 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 2,538.


  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 4,868; Saturday: £ 11,268; Sunday: £ 11,781.
