Overseas: Lowest opener of 2007

To state that NANHE JAISALMER has proved a damp squib, would be putting it mildly. The film is the lowest opener in U.K. in 2007 [check out the list of lowest openers in 2007 below]. Need we add more? Meanwhile, the Punjabi film MITTI WAJAAN MAARDI has fetched an impressive start, overtaking all Hindi films this weekend in U.K.

Weekend: September 14 - 16, 2007.

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • MITTI WAJAAN MAARDI [Punjabi] has debuted at No. 16 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 58,684 [approx. Rs. 47.39 lacs] on 11 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 5,335.


  • DHAMAAL [last weekend: No. 14, this weekend: No. 19]: In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 34,314 on 37 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 927. Total: £ 189,907 [approx. Rs. 1.53 crores].

    The breakdown:- Friday: £ 5,837; Saturday: £ 15,874; Sunday: £ 12,603.


  • HEYY BABYY [last weekend: No. 19, this weekend: No. 27]: In its fourth weekend, the film has collected £ 12,127 on 20 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 606. Total: £ 689,143 [approx. Rs. 5.56 crores].

    The breakdown:- Friday: £ 2,233; Saturday: £ 5,260; Sunday: £ 4,634.


  • NANHE JAISALMER has debuted at No. 33 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 3,951 [approx. Rs. 3.19 lacs] on 10 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 395.
