Overseas: Business slumps badly!

Business continues to be low-key. Last week’s AAJA NACHLE registers a 50% + drop in U.K. and U.S.A., while the two new releases, DUS

KAHANIYAAN and KHOYA KHOYA CHAND, haven’t done much to make the mood upbeat. DUS KAHANIYAAN is below average in U.S.A., but is a

disaster in U.K. On the other hand, KHOYA KHOYA CHAND is a washout in U.K. It has made its way into the lowest openers of 2007 here [see chart

below].

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • AAJA NACHLE [last weekend: No. 11, this weekend: No. 12]: In its second weekend, the film has collected £ 81,783 on 42 screens, with the per

    screen average working out to £ 1,947. Total: £ 324,775 [approx. Rs. 2.61 crores].



  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 20,014; Saturday: £ 34,691; Sunday: £ 27,078.

  • DUS KAHANIYAAN has debuted at No. 15 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 38,603 [approx. Rs. 31.06 lacs] on 23 screens,

    with the per screen average working out to £ 1,678.



  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 10,257; Saturday: £ 15,033; Sunday: £ 13,313.

  • OM SHANTI OM [last weekend: No. 22, this weekend: No. 27]: In its fifth weekend, the film has collected £ 14,901 on 16 screens, with the per screen

    average working out to £ 931. Total: £ 1,286,874 [approx. Rs. 10.35 crores].



  • The breakdown:- Friday: £ 2,680; Saturday: £ 6,104; Sunday: £ 6,117.

  • KHOYA KHOYA CHAND has debuted at No. 42 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 4,663 [approx. Rs. 3.75 lacs] on 8 screens,

    with the per screen average working out to £ 583.
