‘Bride’ Off To A Flying Start!

By Bollywood Hungama

The verdict is out: Gurinder Chadha's BRIDE AND PREJUDICE has taken a flying start in U.K., faring much better than the two major Hollywood openers [RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE and MAN ON FIRE].

But when compared to Gurinder's earlier film BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM, the opening weekend collections as well as the per screen average of BRIDE AND PREJUDICE has been lower. BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM had also debuted at No. 1 position in the U.K. charts, collecting £ 2,001,795 on 384 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 5,213.

Will BRIDE AND PREJUDICE outdo the business of BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM, only time will tell.
