Rani Mukherji is in news again! This time its for refusing Mani Ratnams film yet again. The first time Mani offered her a film DIL SE Rani had committed her dates to MEHNDI. Preity Zinta eventually essayed the role. And the second time he approached her for a Tamil film, in February this year to be precise, she had to let go of the opportunity since three of her films are scheduled for completion and hence, her dates had already been blocked. But a section of the press had reported that Rani refused the offer due to financial reasons. It sounds so cheap, Rani sounded upset as she spoke at length vis-?is the latest controversy surrounding her. Quoting Rani verbatim Actually, the misunderstanding arose when Mani Sirs (Mani Ratnam) assistant approached me in February, asking for 30 days. I blocked the dates required instantly. But when I met Mani Sir subsequently, he said he wanted 60 dates at a stretch, which caught me unaware. I couldnt possibly accommodate him, for that would mean cancelling the remaining schedules that Id already committed to. Since three of my films are getting completed in April, it was not possible to reshuffle the dates. Mani Sir understood the dilemma and we parted as friends. Had money been the criteria, I wouldve accepted all the Tamil and Telugu offers that came my way. But I didnt. This itself proves that money has not been the criteria for refusing the film.
