Vikram Bhatts Aakhir is now Ankahee

Popular filmmaker and the recent ex-chairman of the censor board, Vijay Anand, passed away Sunday morning due to a massive heart attack. He suffered a cardiac arrest and was admitted to the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai on Saturday afternoon.

Brother of superstar Dev Anand and the late filmmaker Chetan Anand, Vijay Anand was a part of their home production house Navketan Films. The prolific filmmaker was responsible for some of the biggest superhits of Dev Anand like Nau Do Gyarah, Kala Bazaar, Tere Ghar Ke Samne, Chhupa Rustam, Guide, Jewel Theif, Johny Mera Naam and Tere Mere Sapne. His other superlative works included Teesri Manzil, Blackmail, Ram Balram and Rajput. As an actor he also starred in films like Mein Tulsi Tere Angan Ki, Hindustan Ki Kasam and Kora Kagaz. In the early 90’s he starred as a Sherlock Holmes kind of spy in a television series titled ‘Tehqiqaat’.

Indeed we must say Bollywood has lost a great personality.
