Hum Dum - is not just a crazy film but also a film that has been crazily made. Just a little chat with Romit and Anjana - the beans came spilling all over. There were a lot of crazy things that happened on the sets of the film, here are a few of the juicy ones! While shooting a particular scene for Hum Dum at Tian in Santacruz, Anjana was hit by a shoe. Now wait and don't read between the lines. As all the film sets are - overcrowded! This one was too. And since it was a tiny place surrounded by around 50 people things went haywire. Not being able to get a particular shot right due to various reasons, Kushan Nandy (director) got so frustrated that he just threw his shoe in air, not intending to hit anyone in particular. But unfortunately the shoe landed on Anjana's head and there she was standing totally embarrassed. Everyone's jaws dropped wondering what actually did she do to deserve that. And Kushan took ample care to see that no one landed up in (read under) his shoes! Another funny incident happened on the first day of the shoot. Romit decided to play interviewer that day and started chatting with Kushan. In all innocence he asked him about his experiences behind the camera. Not aware of the 12 years of experience that backed Kushan; Romit was surprised to hear the long list of projects Kushan had worked on. Not too impressed by the success rate of the director of 88 Antop Hill, Romit was left with no words and just nodded an OK to him. At this Kushan cracked up and said Don't worry. By now I know what not to do in a film. There is this one last tidbit you must hear In the film there is a scene where Anjana messes up with a gigolo and he gets his goon friends to beat the hell out of Romit and her, but as usual the reverse happens and the goons return black and blue. This is how the scene was shot initially but later Romit - an ardent Amitabh fan suggested the scene to be shot differently, where on the arrival of goons the hero says Main Kya Amitabh Ho Jo In Saab Se Ladonga. Bhago! Kushan liked the suggestion so much that he not only used it for the film but for the promos as well!
