Tata infomedia’s first maiden production venture:

MUMBAI, AUG 21, 2002: Tata Infomedia Limited has made a foray into motion picture production with the launch of its new division Cutting Edge Entertainment, informed Mandeep Singh who heads the new division. The banners first venture Aitbaar being produced along with Jatin Kumar has already gone on the floors. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu in the lead, Aitbaar is directed by none other than Vikram Bhatt (one of the hottest directors in tinsel town, who has already given the industry two big hit films Raaz and Aawara Paagal Deewana, this year). This powerful combination is further supported by some of the best names in the Indian film industry. Aitbaar has cinematography by Pravin Bhatt, story by Vikram Bhatt and Robin Bhatt, dialogues by Girish Dhamija, screenplay by Robin Bhatt and Sanjeev Duggal, editing by Kuldeep Singh, art by R.Varman and music by Rajesh Roshan. Says Hoshang S. Billimoria, vice chairman and managing director, Tata Infomedia, We were impressed with the script and storyline of Aitbaar and when the opportunity to make the project arose, we quickly opted to produce it with Jatin Kumar. When asked what the film is all about, all Mr Billimoria said is, Its an obsessive romantic story and I will not reveal more at the moment. The decision of Tata Infomedia to enter motion picture production three months ago, had aroused a lot of interest from the industry and media alike. While Aitbaar is slated for a mid-2003 release, Cutting Edge Entertainment is also developing other scripts for future projects and expects to have three to four films on the floors within a short period.
