Sanjay Gupta is going against the tide! The trend today is against showing the films to the all-India distributors before its theatrical release, for fear that they may back out if they doesnt like the product. But Gupta is screening portions of KAANTE to his all-India distributors on Saturday, November 24, at a 5-star hotel in the city. This writer is amongst those invited by Gupta and his partner, actor Sanjay Dutt, for the screening. The entire filming of this 6-hero project has been completed in a record span of 31 days in the U.S. and at the moment, the film is on the editing table in Mumbai. Soon after the film gets a shape, Gupta will again fly to Los Angeles to complete the entire post-production of the film. Not just Gupta, Sanju is equally charged about the project as well. Every evening, the actor turned producer lands up at the editing studio to edit the promos of the film. Yes, the promos that will eventually come on air are Sanjus brainchild, who seems to be working till 9.30 p.m. everyday to give them his best. Meanwhile, Gupta and Sanju intend honouring the all-India distributors after portions of the film have been screened for the august gathering. One by one, all of them will be invited on a specially erected stage and introduced to the six lead stars of the film. They (the distributors) are the ones who take our films to the audiences and its high time we honoured them, Gupta tells me. A great gesture indeed!
