Of late, dubbed Hollywood films have not left any kind of an impression at the Indian box-office. In a path-breaking development, Columbia TriStar has got Indian actors to dub for the characters in an animation film THE INCREDIBLES. With SRK and his son Aryan lending their voices for the incredible Mr. Lajawab and his mischievous son Tez, respectively, watching a dubbed film turns out to be a novel, interesting experience.
The plot of THE INCREDIBLES follows the same path as BATMAN, SPIDERMAN and SUPERMAN series. The only difference being, in this case, not just one individual but an entire family [the couple and their three kids] is blessed with super-powers to combat anyone and anything. How they combat a power-hungry character [Sankimaan] and his army after a series of adventures forms the crux of the story.
Let's not talk about the giant strides Hollywood has taken vis-?is computer animated films [three of the biggest grossers this year, SHREK 2, SHARK TALE and THE INCREDIBLES, are animation films]. What everyone wants to know is, have the Indian actors [SRK, Jaaved Jaffery, Rakshanda Khan] managed to pull off the act convincingly? In other words, have they done their jobs well? And how entertaining is the film?
SRK's [Mr. Lajawab] voice seems to compliment the various emotions the character exhibits on screen. But it is Aryan Khan [Tez], SRK's son, who seems like a wonderkid. It's hard to believe that a kid could be so perfect at this young age with his dubbing, pronunciations and the various moods he displays with his voice.
The dialogues [penned by Jaaved Jaffery and Baba Khan] and Jaaved's dubbing [for the negative Sankimaan] are first-rate. The voices of Rakshanda Khan [Mrs. Lajawab], Vindu Dara Singh [Barfila, Mr. Lajawab's friend], Asif Ali Baig [Edna, the dress designer], Malishka Mendonca [Mona, the vamp] and Ami Trivedi [Vinita, Mr. Lajawab's daughter] add life to the characters.
To sum up, THE INCREDIBLES is a family-friendly film. The movie encompasses just about everything for kids and kids-at-heart. And yes, SRK and Aryan's voices add that extra sheen and zing to this immensely likeable flick. Highly recommended!
The hugely successful film was premiered at Fame Adlabs, Andheri on Monday, December 13. Packed with celebrities and their kids, the screening was attended by SRK, who set the ball rolling by cutting a cake.
The premiere screening had tattoo artists and clowns mingling freely with the invitees. Besides, various games in the premises made it one memorable affair!
