The Film & Television Producers Guild of India Ltd. has sent a strong written communication to the Health Ministry opposing the proposed tobacco ban. This is in continuation to the Guilds endeavor to persuade the government for a rollback of the said ban through persistent follow-up with I. & B. Minister Jaipal Reddy. The Guild brought to the Health Ministrys notice the discussions during the workshop on film certification issues held on July 5, wherein it was decided by consensus that the ban would not be imposed unilaterally.
