Ramesh Sippy and Asim Ghosh, M.D., Hutchison Max Telecom Ltd., hosted a get-together on April 19 to celebrate the release of Anupama Chopras National Award winning book, Sholay-The Making Of A Classic, at Hotel Regent, Bandra. The launch of the book was a nostalgic affair as a 6-minute audio visual, depicting important scenes from the film, was screened for the guests. But the best part of the evening was the younger generation reading out excerpts from the book. Abhishek read out portions pertaining to his father Amitabh and how he bagged the film, Shadaab Khan brought back memories of his father, the late Amjad Khan, as he read a couple of paras and Rohan Sippy, son of Ramesh Sippy, read out the reactions of the industry, post release of this epic. Thereafter, the entire unit of the film, cast and technicians, were called on the stage for a keepsake photograph. Later, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan felicitated the author, Anupama Chopra, who has been awarded a Swarna Kamal for best writing on Indian cinema. A memorable moment, it was attended by the cream of the industry.
