Thats untrue, Sanjay Bhattacharjii, an associate of Mathan, denies the development outright, SHIKHAR is definitely arriving on December 30. We want to release the film before December 31 this year. According to the research we have done vis--vis the business of films released on December 31, weve realized that the collections of films actually pick up in the evening shows. Not all people want to celebrate on December 31, they want to watch films on the date as well. I do agree that the business will be low in the early part of January 1, but it should pick up again in the evening. Bhattacharjii continues in the same breath, We dont want to postpone SHIKHAR to January 6 since the first week is considered jinxed in the industry. Films releasing in the first week have never worked for some strange reason. And if we shift the film to the second week of January, we anyway face competition from ZINDA. Hence, December 30 suits us best. Lets hope Bhattacharjii is proved right about film business actually showing a jump on December 31 and January 1.
