Shakal Pe Mat Ja (SPMJ) might have gone through a rough phase but the team has a big reason to finally rejoice! Amongst thousands of entries and prestigious jurors like Shekhar Kapoor, SPMJ has been selected to be the centerpiece premiere film of 2011 at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) to be held in New York city from November 9-15. SAIFF features the work of new South Asian film makers from all around the world and this is its 8th year.
Shubh, the director of the film SPMJ, who will be traveling to NY for the same says, "We are absolutely thrilled to have our film as a part of such a prestigious event. It feels great that all the hard work is finally paying off. Saurabh Shukla and I will be there for the opening premiere and we are really looking forward to it."
SAIFF has earlier screened films like That Girl in Yellow Boots and Paan Singh Tomar, which came from well established production houses vis-a-vis SPMJ that features a new director as well as a new producer indicating towards the fact that the film has the potential to capture attention.
SPMJ, releasing on 18th November 2011 is a story of four young boys who get caught up as suspects at the Delhi international airport. The film is written and directed by Shubh. It is produced by Linc Entertainment (a division of Linc Pens) and co produced by actress Hrishitaa Bhatt. The film also stars Saurabh Shukla, Raghubir Yadav, Aamna Sharif and Umang Jain.
