Hindi film producers are slowly and steadily making films that depend a lot on special effects to carry the story forward. If JAJANTARAM MAMANTARAM has 63 minutes devoted to special effects alone, RUDRAKASH will have 75 minutes of special effects, which is a record for Hindi films. This writer had the opportunity to have an insight into the film and must say, the special effects depicted in the film are simply mindblowing. RUDRAKSH deals with an offbeat story. But it's not something you cannot relate to, Sunil Shetty and producer Sohail Maklai echo. Continues Sunil, Even today, in my hometown, we talk of the supernatural and paranormal activities. A theme like this can easily be identified by just about everyone. Sohail Maklai, who produces the film along with Nitin Manmohan, refuses to divulge the exact money the makers have spent on the special effects alone, but it's evident that the money is huge. RUDRAKSH will witness both Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Shetty donning various get-ups in the film, which co-stars Bipasha Basu and Isha Koppikar as the leading ladies. The film revolves around six characters primarily four of us, Kabir Bedi and Raj Zutshi, he adds. Although Sunil and Maklai are tightlipped when it comes to revealing about the characters, but from the looks of it, having negative shades to their characters cannot be ruled out. Yes, this facet of the personality does surface when they get power, but it wouldn't be fair on my part to much at this juncture, Sunil adds. However, Sunil does admit that he did not understand the story of the film when Mani Shankar narrated him at the outset. But I knew that here's a man who knows what he's talking. And, in any case, actors have very limited knowledge as far as scripts are concerned, going by the number of flops we deliver. So what prompted Sunil to accept the film eventually? Well, I trust Mani completely and I know for a fact that he'll come up with something that we'll be proud of when we look back, pat comes the reply. RUDRAKSH is already complete and is slated for release on August 15.
