Speculation is rife that Priyanka Chopra and the makers of BENAAM are at loggerheads due to the former's inability to shell out bulk dates for the marathon shooting schedule of the film.
While Ajay Devgan and Bhumika Chawla have allotted bulk dates to the project, Priyanka had been unable to match those dates. That explains why this talk of the makers looking for a replacement has been fast gathering momentum.
However, this thorny issue has finally been sorted out. "I did explain to the producers that it isn't appropriate to replace an actress after she has shot for the film," BENAAM director Anees Bazmee informs me, "Date hassles are a part and parcel of this profession and we need to tackle it tactfully."
Please elaborate. "I had a detailed meeting with Priyanka and she understood our predicament. She has even promised me that she'll go out of her way to accommodate BENAAM. If the actor is being so co-operative, we, at our end, are also expected to extend a helping hand. In fact, Priyanka is very excited about her character in the film," Bazmee concludes.
BENAAM will be shot in August, October and December, after which the entire shooting will be complete. "Priyanka is definitely a part of BENAAM. I am not going to have an alternative in her place for sure," Bazmee states firmly. That should put an end to all the tittle-tattle!
